MIRTHE BLUSEÉ
MAY 2025
Mirthe Blussé about her stay with us : ´I came to reconnect with my natural state of wilderness and to study the different colours in nature at the change from summer into autumn.
These were the last warm Indian summer days: under a waning moon, amidst the smells of flowering peppermint and wild rosemary, all buzzing with insects and dancing butterflies, i witnessed how nature was still oozing its magic, fertile energies and at the same time surrendering to the first cool autumn breezes.
I was impressed by the flexibility and resilience of some plants, and the beauty of decay in others.
The book 'Collecting Colour' by Narayan Khandekar became an inspiring anchor for me, while i did my first experiments as a painter with natural plant dyes on canvas in a little cooking pan on the camping stove.
Surprised by an eagle's visit several times, or distracted by a big libelula, I happily wondered and played around, counting my blessings, while the hours on the clock counted double compared to my normal city life.
